Small Bathroom Renovation

A feature case study on small bathroom renovation in Auckland

This renovation we completed was through a Property Manager

The owner initially asked for us to quote on replacing the ceiling which was the old Michelangelo tiles. The owner had mentioned she was eventually getting the whole bathroom done, after talking to her I suggested we send a quote for the full bathroom as it would be more cost-effective than doing it in stages.

The owner was impressed with our pricing for the full bathroom so we went ahead. With any bathroom that leaks we don’t know what will be uncovered until we have stripped the bathroom out.

We installed aqua gib on all the walls, plastered, painted. Installed the new shower, mixer and vanity, laid new vinyl. We also created a small subway tile splashback so water wouldn’t run down behind the vanity.

As we were working with a small bathroom we installed a curved shower to give them some space, new heated towel rail, new mirror and a heat/extractor fan. We also found a slim wall hung storage cabinet for the customer to put towels into.

As you can see from some of the before photos prior to renovation, with older bathrooms in homes, we tend to find that over the years, water will somehow always make it's way through to the structure.

We come across rotten studs in the corner where the shower had been leaking. We replaced the studs and floor where it was needed so we could continue with the renovation.
